Islamic Inheritance Calculator (Warasat / Fara'id)

This free calculator works out each heir's individual share of an estate according to the fixed Quranic shares (faraid) in Surah An-Nisa 4:11–12. It handles the most common family situations — a spouse, parents, sons and daughters — and shows the exact amount and percentage for each person. Everything runs in your browser, so your figures stay private.

How shares are worked out

  1. Funeral costs, debts and any valid bequest (up to 1/3) are deducted first.
  2. Fixed-share heirs are paid: wife 1/8 (or 1/4 with no children); husband 1/4 (or 1/2); mother 1/6 (or 1/3); father 1/6 when there are children.
  3. The remaining estate goes to the children — sons and daughters split it in a 2:1 ratio. With no son, daughters take 1/2 (one) or 2/3 (two or more).

Frequently Asked Questions

1/8 of the estate if the deceased left children, and 1/4 if there are none. Multiple wives share that portion equally.
1/6 if the deceased left children or two or more siblings, otherwise 1/3.
When sons are present, the residue is split among sons and daughters 2:1 — each son gets twice a daughter's share. Daughters with no son get 1/2 (one) or 2/3 (two+).
No. It estimates common cases. Complex estates should be confirmed by a qualified Mufti or inheritance lawyer.
