What is PDFdukan?
PDFdukan is a browser-based collection of PDF tools and a document scanner called CamMaster. It is developed in Pakistan for people who need common scanning, conversion and page-management tasks without installing desktop software. Basic document tools do not require an account.
Who is PDFdukan built for?
PDFdukan is built for people who need browser-based PDF and scan workflows without installing desktop software. Core file processing and important limitations are described on each tool page; connected features such as Drive, accounts, contact and analytics have separate data flows. This includes:
- Students in Pakistan — scanning CNIC, assignments, and university documents
- Office workers — merging, splitting, and compressing PDFs for email and portals
- Freelancers — converting and signing documents quickly without subscriptions
- Small businesses — processing invoices, contracts, and forms for free
Who built PDFdukan?
PDFdukan was founded in 2025 by Sher Azam Khan, a developer based in Pakistan. The project focuses on free browser-based document utilities with clear per-tool limitations and no account requirement for the listed basic tools.
What problem does PDFdukan solve?
Document tools use different processing models. PDFdukan's core operations use browser JavaScript or WebAssembly where each tool page says so; optional connected features and ordinary page resources can still communicate with external services. As a result:
- Core processing described as local stays in the browser; connected services are optional
- There is no installation required
- There is no subscription or hidden fee
- It works on any device — phone, tablet, or computer
CamMaster — Our AI Document Scanner
CamMaster is PDFdukan's document-scanning tool. It attempts document-corner detection with an ONNX model and an OpenCV.js fallback, lets the user correct four crop points, applies perspective correction and offers selectable readability filters. Automatic detection and enhancement can be wrong, so every crop and export should be inspected. Core scan processing is client-side; no account is currently required for the basic scanner.
Key features of CamMaster:
- Auto edge detection and corner adjustment
- Magic Pro document-enhancement filters
- Export to PDF or JPG
- Optional Google Drive save (requires sign-in)
- Works from phone camera or uploaded photo
What tools does PDFdukan offer?
PDFdukan offers tools across these categories:
- PDF Conversion: Image to PDF, PDF to JPG, Word to PDF, PDF to Word
- PDF Management: Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF, Rotate PDF
- OCR & Scanning: OCR Text Extraction, Searchable PDF, and CamMaster Scanner
Our Privacy Promise
Local processing for the core document tools. Each tool page explains what runs in your browser and any important limitation. Optional Drive saves, contact, account and analytics features communicate with the relevant service when used.
Preferences and app state use browser storage. Website traffic is measured with Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymization configured; account, contact and Drive features have separate data flows. Full details: Privacy Policy and Cookies and Local Storage Policy.
How PDFdukan tests and publishes information
The PDFdukan Editorial Team maintains the tool documentation and guides. Before a workflow claim is published or materially updated, it is checked against the current interface and supported input/output path in a current browser. Pages state practical limitations—such as rasterized PDF compression, image-based PowerPoint slides, OCR uncertainty, and browser-memory constraints—instead of promising identical results for every file.
- Tool checks: upload, processing controls, download output, visible errors, and mobile layout are checked for the workflow being documented.
- Claim review: privacy and processing claims distinguish core local file processing from optional accounts, Google Drive, analytics, contact, and third-party library downloads.
- Corrections: readers can report a reproducible issue through the contact form; wording and examples are corrected when the current product differs.
- Source visibility: the public PDFdukan source repository records implementation and documentation changes.
Technology and connected services
Most document workflows use browser JavaScript or WebAssembly libraries. The website also uses server routes and optional third-party services for account, contact, analytics and Google Drive features; these are separate from the core file-processing path described on each tool page.
- PDF-lib — PDF creation, merge, split
- PDF.js — PDF rendering and page preview
- ONNX Runtime Web and OpenCV.js — Assisted document-corner detection and fallback processing
- Tesseract.js — Optical Character Recognition
- jsPDF — Image-to-PDF generation
- JSZip — Client-side ZIP creation
- Next.js and server APIs — account, contact and supporting website routes
- Optional connected services — Firebase authentication, Google Drive saves, Google Analytics and email delivery where selected or disclosed
