What Does the Image Compress & Resize Tool Do?

PDFdukan's image compress & resize online tool makes a JPG, PNG or WebP smaller in file size, in pixels, or both. Pick a compression level or a target size in KB, and the result updates live. The image is processed in your browser, not on our server.

You see the original and the new file side by side, with the size in KB or MB and the pixel dimensions, before you download anything.

How Do I Compress and Resize an Image?

The tool works in three steps:

  1. Upload your image. Tap Choose Image or drop a JPG, PNG or WebP up to 50 MB.
  2. Pick your settings. Choose a Compression level, a Size and a Format. The result updates after each change.
  3. Check and download. Compare Before and After, then tap Download and name the file.

Which Setting Should I Choose?

Each setting changes a different part of the file:

Balanced

Saves at 80% quality. A good default for photos you share by email or chat.

Smallest file

Saves at 60% quality. Use it when size matters more than fine detail.

Target size (KB)

Finds the highest quality under your limit, such as 50 KB or 200 KB for an upload form.

Size in pixels

Scale by percent, type a width and height, or fit a social size without cropping.

Which Format Makes the Smallest File?

The right format depends on the image:

FormatBest forTransparency
JPGPhotos and scansNo, turns white
WebPWebsites and transparent imagesYes
PNGLogos and screenshots that must stay exactYes, but files stay large

Auto keeps JPG and WebP files in their format. It saves a PNG as JPG, or as WebP when the PNG has a transparent background.

How Do I Get a Small File That Still Looks Sharp?

Reduce the pixels first, then the quality. A 12-megapixel phone photo is about 4,000 pixels wide, far more than most screens show. Shrinking it with By percent or Width × Height cuts the file size a lot before any quality is lost.

If you set a small target size, such as 20 KB, on a large photo, the tool warns you when quality drops below 40%. That is your signal to make the image smaller in pixels instead.

Are My Images Uploaded?

No. The image compress & resize tool reads and saves your image with code that runs in your browser, so the photo is not sent to a PDFdukan server. The page still loads site files, analytics and ads.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, in most cases. Choose Target size (KB) and tap 100 KB. If a large photo can't fit, the tool tells you; reduce its pixel size and try again.

JPG and WebP compression removes some detail, but at Balanced or High quality the change is hard to see. Compare Before and After before you download.

A file that is already well compressed can grow when it is saved again. The tool warns you when this happens, so you can keep your original or choose Smallest file.

No. Width × Height keeps the proportions while the lock is on. Social sizes fit the whole image inside the canvas and fill any spare space.

Not yet. The tool handles one image at a time, so you can check each result before you save it.
