Cookies & Local Storage Policy
This policy explains how PDFdukan ("we," "us") uses cookies and browser local storage on the CamMaster website (pdfdukan.com).
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They enable the website to remember your preferences and understand how you use the service. PDFdukan uses minimal cookies and relies primarily on browser localStorage and sessionStorage — which are never transmitted to any server — for storing your preferences.
2. Local Storage We Use
The following keys are stored in your browser's localStorage. None of this data is ever sent to our servers.
| Key | Purpose | Type | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
cm_theme |
Stores your dark/light theme preference | Essential | Until cleared by you |
cm_recent |
List of recently processed document names and metadata (no file content) | Functional | Until cleared by you |
cm_settings |
User-selected application settings (quality, export format, scan filter) | Functional | Until cleared by you |
cm_user |
Google account display name and email (only when signed in) | Authentication | Until you sign out |
cm_read_notifs |
IDs of notification messages you have already read | Functional | Until cleared by you |
3. Session Storage
We use sessionStorage with the key cm_pending_files to temporarily hold file data when you upload a document on the home page and are redirected to a tool. This data is automatically cleared when you close the tab or navigate away. It is never transmitted to a server.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Google AdSense
We serve advertisements through Google AdSense. Google may set cookies to deliver personalized ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising via Google Ad Settings.
Google Analytics (if enabled)
We may use Google Analytics for anonymous page view statistics. We enable IP anonymization. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
5. How to Control Cookies
You can control and delete cookies and localStorage through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions
You can also clear PDFdukan's local preferences via your browser's privacy settings.
